This project, written, filmed, photographed and recorded by nine Mayborn School of Journalism students, focuses on the Muscogee Nation in Oklahoma. Students spent the spring 2025 semester learning about the nation, its people, and its history, before embarking on a week-long field reporting trip to the nation. Students reported and produced their own stories from Okmulgee, Muskogee, Tulsa and other locations, telling the stories of people and places in the indigenous community. Their aim was to shed light on people often stereotyped, marginalized and trivialized in media.
